Can God Use Evil People and Evil Behaviour for our Good?

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 We worry when we can’t see a good way out of a situation. Everything looks grim. It was the same for the disciples when Judas came to betray Jesus, Peter even tried to stop Jesus being arrested by drawing his sword and attacking one of the soldiers. But God was able to use Judas betrayal, to accomplish the forgiveness of your sins by Jesus death on the cross. And without the crucifixion, there’d be no resurrection. God used a negative thing (Judas’ betrayal of Jesus) to accomplish something good (you going to heaven). In the same way God used the persecution on the early church in Jerusalem to force Phillip into Samaria. The persecution was a bad thing, but in Acts 8, we see Phillip enjoying the most amazing blessing in power evangelism. So if you are facing an impossible situation, bear in mind that God can use even evil men, and sinful behaviour to achieve his good goals for us. God used all the terrible things that happened to Joseph in the Old Testament to position Joseph just where he needed to be. And better still Joseph did eventually see, that it was all worth it in the end.
