NYWC and Carl Beech

Got back last night from the latest Newday Youth Workers Conference at Center Parcs, Elvedon Forest. It was one of those times when you just want to sit back and thank God that you are in a bit of Christianity that is growing. I became a Christian in a Newfrontiers church and so being in a movement that grows numerically has been my “normal.” At NYWC, I was reminded of how great my ‘normal’ is. Meeting so many young people who are going for God was very moving. Stef Liston, Stuart Gibbs and myself shared the preaching with Jez Field from Eastbourne. I was in tears as we sang the final song after communion on Sunday morning about the “power of the cross.” We had loads of fun as a family over the weekend, and going down the rapids holding hands with my two oldest girls was an unforgettable experience!

Last week, I hosted my new friend Carl Beech at our newfrontiers UK prayer and fasting gathering in Peterborough. Carl leads a large men’s ministry, and it’s one of those times when you meet someone, and you find you share a similar opinion and outlook, and there’s a connection. He is one of the most impressive people you could meet, but is also very normal. I arranged for him to meet various leaders.
