There were somewhere around 450 people crammed into the largest lecture theatre on the Highfield Campus at Southampton University last night for the first Christian Union meeting of term.
Billy Kennedy, who heads up the sort of churches together in Southamptonhttp://www.southamptonchristiannetwork.org.uk/ was there urging students to get plugged into a local church during their three years at university.
We had a superb time of sung worship together and then I spoke on “Communicating the Gospel in Your World” from John 4, telling a few stories from my own student days along the way.
Tom Heasman did a great job anchoring the meeting, and it was an exciting start to the term. I’ll be bringing Julia and our four daughters to their weekend away in November, which we are all very much looking forward to http://www.sucu.org.uk/
