Healed of deafness – a tinnitus testimony from this morning in Shrewsbury
Adrian Holloway on October 2, 2011 with 0 Comments“I’ve been deaf in this ear for 15 months, but now I can hear perfectly. I’ve been healed!” said Barbara Enderby, at Barnabas Community Church, Shrewsbury after I prayed for her, this morning, “I’ve had tinnitus, which means all I’ve been able to hear is a high pitched sound and nothing else.”
Barbara was one of three people who came up on stage in the first service (which started at 9.10am!) to say they’d been healed in the ‘blanket’ prayer.
Barbara said she’d been inspired by the story I had just told of how Hannah Simm, from Exeter, (who was born deaf) was healed at Newday 2010.
So once I’d prayed for everyone in the first service who wanted prayer in the ‘blanket’ prayer, (where people just lay hands on themselves as I stand on stage during worship), Barbara went outside into the car park, where it was totally quiet to test her hearing. She clicked her fingers next to hear deaf ear and could hear everything totally normally.
So that was a great start! Then a gardener, called Paul Lloyd came up to the mic to say that he’d been healed from a knee injury caused 6 months ago, and then one of the singers in the band called Naomi said she’d been healed of a back problem.
At this point we hadn’t called anyone forward for prayer. We hadn’t laid hands on anyone, and it was still only 9.30am.
Anyway, there were a total of 10 people who responded for salvation across the two services. I preached on the Prodigal Son from Luke 15, a story that gets me every time.
One great moment, was when a bloke called Simon Hayes came up to me at the end, and said: “I’m still healed!” He’d had a significant healing on a long-term injury when I was in Shrewsbury a year ago, and it is tremendous to hear how these healings do stand the test of time.
It was a pleasure to be with my great friend Martin Charlesworth, who is an exemplary individual in every way, and we share a rare thing in common . . . we are both the sons of public school headmasters and born again Christians! A highly unusual combination! I’ve had chats with Martin that I’ve had with no-one else ever! Happy Days!
