Fourteen people responded for salvation in Guernsey tonight at the St James Centre (pictured!). There were around 400 people there, made up of people from churches all over the island and their friends.
Just before I preached, Church on the Rock pastor Jonathan Le Tocq did an interview with Guernsey’s chief of Police, Patrick Rice, who up until last year was Commander of the City of London Police.
It was a great finale to a fun weekend on the island for me. I flew to Guernsey on Friday 7th, and spoke at an evangelistic men’s curry night that evening, where around 55 men attended. I then met with around 40 leaders from across the answer on Saturday morning in a sort of question and answer format.
This morning I spoke about “Communicating the Gospel in your World” at Church on the Rock, and then headed off for the churches together evangelistic event tonight, which was called “I love Guernsey.”
It was a great pleasure to stay with Jonathan and Judith Le Tocq, whose daughter Lucy was our lodger in Fulham up until last year. It was great to see a number of great friends from London, including Sally Herring, who was my long-suffering researcher for a year on staff at Christ Church, London, and also Michelle Mei, who was a star convert on one of our early Alpha Courses at the City Golf Bar in Blackfriars. It was great to also see Luke Vidamour at lunch today and James Le Tissier, who both served the Christ Church London band brilliantly and are now making waves with http://www.couragehavecourage.com/
