Everything you’ve ever been told about Coventry City Centre is now wrong!
Adrian Holloway on October 16, 2011 with 0 CommentsIt was great to be back at Jubilee Church, Coventry http://www.jubileechurchcoventry.org/ this morning. The church is considerably larger than when I was last there 7 years ago, and they are now meeting in a brand new building, the Coventry University Student Union centre, called The Hub. It’s about 200 yards from the Cathedral, and the whole area has been completely re-developed, so that I can honestly say that Coventry has been transformed!
I did an equipping in evangelism message, which seemed to go well, and I was tremendously encouraged to meet a lady called Madelaine, who was converted when I preached in Bermondsey in May 2005. I’m always impressed by anyone who can tell me what I preached on six years later! She told me that her family had been opposed to her attending the meeting, and that she’d gone to support her sister who’d joined the church and also her neice who was getting married at City Hope Church, Bermondsey a couple of months later. Madelaine then got baptized by my house group leaders, Paul and Belinda McArdle in Kingston, and she got relocated by Sainsburys to Coventry three years ago.
It was great to catch up with Andrew and Janice Simpkins, who lead Jubilee Church, and I was so pleased to see them in such a superb venue with loads of new students.
