There were 4 people baptized, and about 350 present. It was great to be at the home church of CU President Tom Heasman and the UCCF staff worker Jo Simpkins, who is married to the assistant minister Dan.
Just as the service started, I had the tremendous pleasure of meeting Maureen Spillett, who all through my childhood was Maureen Burton and married to my uncle John Burton. Her sons Andrew and Jonathan were my cousins and close to me and I’ve not seen them or Maureen for at least 25 years, so we had a lot of catching up to do. The Southampton Uni CU Mission starts tomorrow with a double prayer meeting and then lunchtime talk on “Science has buried God?”
