Salvation responses in Beaconsfield

18 people who told us they are not part of any church, prayed a salvation response prayer when I spoke at Hope Church Beaconsfield this morning. All 18 of those left their name and almost all also left contact details. In addition we had 3 anonymous responses. All of these responses were via comment cards. I’ve since found out that some of those 18 are actually church folks, and/or part of other churches, but also been told that some are people who definitely would not have called themselves Christians when they woke up this morning! It was my first time speaking at Hope Church on a Sunday morning, though I was with them earlier this year, speaking at their church weekend away. I’ve also spoken at three Alpha Launch meals in Beaconsfield over the years. Ben Saunders, a friend, who once helped administrate Newday, opened the service, and Matt Jones, the super friendly pastor there did a great job at the end, and introduced the hog roast. I was told that they had twice as many attend this morning when compared to a normal Sunday. Can’t help thinking that the hog roast had a part to play! One comment I heard was from a woman at the very end who said: “I’m not a Christian, but this morning really spoke to me.” Great performance song, beautifully done by the Hope Church band “Who would have dreamed? by Sovereign Grace music.
