12 pray response prayer in Newbury

Adrian Holloway on December 15, 2024 with 0 Comments

12 people who told us they were not part of any church, prayed the “O Little Town of Bethlehem” response prayer when I spoke at Bridge Church, Newbury this morning. All these 12 left their name. Two more, also not church didn’t pray the prayer but did say they wanted to ‘discover more about Christianity.’ Bridge Church is led by Mark Landreth-Smith who planted the Beacon Church, Camberley back in 1995. Mark led The Beacon for 19 years before moving with his wife Bev to start The Bridge Church in 2014. It was great to see so many there this morning. The photo is of the downstairs at Trinity School. (There were others on the upper level.) I first met Mark 39 years ago at The Downs Bible Week in 1985. I’d been a Christian for 2 months and played football with him on the field across the road from Plumpton Racecourse in Sussex. Mark was instrumental in us Holloways coming to The Beacon Church in 2021. I’ll never forget Mark talking to my recently widowed mother at my 50th birthday party at KCS Wimbledon. A true friend and supporter.
